The PLC Platform is a free, internal educational tool developed exclusively for faculty at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Our platform serves as a comprehensive management system for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), enabling teachers, department heads, and administrators to collaborate effectively, track educational goals, and coordinate meetings.

This is a non-commercial application with no revenue generation. It exists solely to support our educators and enhance professional development within our school community.

Who Uses This Platform

Faculty

Teachers participate in PLCs, set collaborative goals, and track professional development activities.

Department Heads

Department leaders oversee PLCs, monitor progress, and provide guidance to their teams.

Administrators

School administrators have visibility across departments and can assign requirements.

Email Communications Policy

Transactional Emails Only

Our platform sends only transactional emails necessary for platform functionality. We do NOT send marketing, promotional content, newsletters, or third-party advertisements.

Types of Emails We Send

1. Magic Link Authentication

Secure, passwordless login links sent when users sign in. Each link is one-time use only and expires in 15 minutes for security.

2. Meeting Reminders

Automatic notifications sent 24 hours before scheduled PLC meetings to ensure faculty are prepared.

3. Action Item Notifications

Alerts when tasks are assigned to users or when action items are approaching their due dates.

4. Weekly Digest Emails (Optional)

Summary of PLC activity for the week. Users can opt-out of these at any time.

5. Admin Requirement Notifications

Alerts when school administrators assign new requirements or tasks to PLCs.

1. Introduction

This platform is provided by Santa Margarita Catholic High School exclusively for use by our faculty, department heads, and administrators. By accessing this platform, you agree to these Terms.

2. Educational Purpose

The PLC Platform is a non-commercial, internal educational tool designed to:

  • Facilitate Professional Learning Community collaboration
  • Support educational goal setting and tracking
  • Coordinate meetings and professional development
  • Enable resource sharing and assessment data analysis

3. Acceptable Use

Users agree to:

  • Use the platform solely for legitimate educational purposes
  • Maintain confidentiality of login credentials
  • Respect privacy and intellectual property of others
  • Not share access with unauthorized individuals
  • Not attempt to compromise platform security

4. Email Communications Consent

By using this platform, you consent to receive transactional emails necessary for functionality (authentication, reminders, notifications). We do not send marketing emails. See ourEmail Policy above for details.

5. User Accounts & Access

Access is restricted to authorized faculty of Santa Margarita Catholic High School. We use passwordless magic link authentication. Sessions expire after 14 days (7 days for administrators). Access may be revoked for violations of these terms or if no longer affiliated with the school.

6. Data Privacy & Security

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties. Content you create (goals, notes, comments) may be visible to other PLC members, department heads, and administrators as appropriate for collaboration.

7. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you create. By uploading content, you grant the school a non-exclusive license to use it for educational purposes within the platform.

8. Disclaimer

Platform provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service and reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

Santa Margarita Catholic High School shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States.
